Common use of Time for Completion Clause in Contracts

Time for Completion. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE OF THE CONTRACT and of each and every portion thereof for which a certain length of time is fixed for performance. Unless otherwise specified, Contractor shall start the Work at the construction site within ten (10) days after it receives a written Notice to Proceed from Con Edison and shall complete the Work and the various parts thereof within the time or times specified in the Contract schedule.
