Time for Filing Application. Application for maternity leave prior to childbirth should be made thirty (30) days prior to the beginning date of the maternity leave. Application for maternity leave for the period beginning with the expiration of a period of disability, or for maternity leave related to adoption should be made prior to the beginning date of the leave. The employee's failure to make a timely application shall not be grounds for denying the approval of maternity leave.
