Time of inclusion. (i) For taxable years beginning before January 1, 1977, the amount of net income determined under subparagraph (2) is includible in the gross income of the individual for the taxable year in which it is received. The amount of net income thus distrib- uted is subject to the tax imposed by section 408(f)(1) for the year includible in gross income.
