Common use of Time Off for Additional Relatives Clause in Contracts

Time Off for Additional Relatives. In the event of a death of a relative not covered by the definition of immediate family above, such as niece, nephew, aunt and uncle, an employee may request unpaid time off for bereavement purposes of up to three (3) scheduled shifts to a maximum of 36 hours to be taken within seven (7) days following the death. At the facility’s discretion such requests may be granted. If granted, the employee may use vacation, if available.
