TIME TEACHERS. 40.1 In order to facilitate the staffing process and reduce the number of Teachers declared surplus annually, Teachers are encouraged to apply for reduced teaching loads by 1 April. 40.1.1 All requests for a leave to reduce teaching load shall be made by 1 April, or 15 November for Semester II, and should be supported by a letter stating relevant details and considerations such as the nature of the change, the length of time the change is to be in effect, and the terms of the Teacher=s return to his/her previous status. 40.1.2 At the end of the part-time assignment, the Teacher will have the right to return to his/her previous teaching status with the Board. Normally the Teacher cannot expect to return to his/her previous teaching status until the expiration of the leave to reduce teaching load. 40.1.3 Should the Teacher wish to return to his/her previous teaching status earlier than arranged, he/she must provide written notification to the Superintendent of Human Resources by 1 April of any year for return the following September.
