VOTE/COPE. Effective July 1, 1999, the District shall deduct VOTE-COPE payments from teachers’ paychecks. The deduction authorization shall be in the form agreed to by both parties.
VOTE/COPE. Teachers may elect to participate in VOTE/COPE through payroll deduction.
VOTE/COPE. The District shall deduct from the payroll checks of individual unit members monies for VOTE/COPE. Each member who voluntarily elects to have such deduction shall sign an appropriate authorization card in triplicate. Funds so collected shall be forwarded directly to VOTE/COPE by the District and shall be accompanied by information required by applicable state or federal laws.
VOTE/COPE. Voluntary payroll deductions shall be available for Association members for educational lobbying efforts during the first November pay period.
VOTE/COPE. Effective July 1, 2010, the District shall deduct VOTE-COPE payments from Teaching Assistants’ paychecks.
VOTE/COPE. The College will deduct from the employee’s fourth through eighth regular paychecks such VOTE/COPE contributions as may be authorized in writing by the employee. The authorization cards used for VOTE/COPE deductions shall be supplied by the Association, and shall remain in effect until modified or cancelled by written notice. Association members may opt in or out or change deductions amounts once per calendar year.
VOTE/COPE. 7.1 The District agrees to deduct from the salaries of bargaining unit members an amount of money that said members individually and voluntarily authorize the District to deduct and transmit such monies promptly to SEIU VOTE/COPE. The bargaining unit member's authorization shall be in writing by a uniform card furnished by the Association. The Association assumes responsibility for the proper withholding of funds from bargaining unit members for VOTE/COPE, and shall save harmless the District for liability arising out of the withholding of such funds.
VOTE/COPE. A program providing for VOTE-COPE check-off and remission of payments to NYSUT will be continued. Under the program, the Federation will provide to the College the appropriate authorization form from each participant; the VOTE-COPE check-off shall be deducted from each participating bargaining unit member’s biweekly paycheck (20 paychecks annually); and an annual time frame for participants to authorize or to cancel the check-off will be established. The Federation shall indemnify, defend and save the College harmless against any and all claims, demands, suits or other forms of liability that may arise by reason of action taken or not taken by the College for the purpose of complying with this section. The Federation shall promptly refund to the employer any funds received in accordance with the agreement which are in excess of the amount the College has agreed to deduct.
