Common use of Traffic Control and Maintenance Clause in Contracts

Traffic Control and Maintenance. (2563). Contractor shall maintain traffic at all times while performing the Work in accordance with the current Minnesota Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MMUTCD) Field Manual and its supplements, or as deemed necessary by the Engineer, when the Work occurs on or adjacent to any street, alley or public place. Contractor shall provide, under the traffic control item, all construction signage and traffic control devices for the protection of persons, property and the Work. Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining traffic control devices during the Work. In the event that the City must install additional signs for traffic control for safety purposes, the cost for such measures shall be billed to Contractor or withheld from monies due. The Contractor shall be held responsible for all damaged from failure to protect the work zone. When single lane traffic is necessary, flagmen must be provided to direct traffic. Contractor shall provide certifications of all flagmen that will be working on this project.
