Common use of Training and Continuous Professional Development Clause in Contracts

Training and Continuous Professional Development. The Official Agency shall provide appropriate training, including induction training for staff performing official controls enabling them to undertake their duties competently and to carry out official controls and other official activities in a consistent manner, in line with Article 5(4)(a) and Chapter I, Annex II of Regulation (EU) 2017/625 and Article 1(c), Article 13 and Xxxxx XX of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/624. While the provision of training is the primary responsibility of the Official Agency, the Authority may provide training interventions where the Official Agency has highlighted areas where training is required. The Authority will endeavour to facilitate networking and collaboration with other Official Agencies to assist in improving knowledge in such areas. Training needs for official control staff will be identified by the Official Agency, this may be achieved through surveys, liaison meetings, working groups and feedback from training or other events. These training needs shall form part of the annual training plans be completed by the Official Agency, which should include details of appropriate training to be provided to staff listed in Schedule 3. The Official Agency shall maintain training records for each member of staff involved in official controls and/or other official activities that are within the remit of this service contract.
