Transfers to Positions Within the Bargaining Unit. (a) An employee temporarily or permanently transferred or promoted to a higher classification shall receive the commencement rate of pay for the new classification, commensurate with his/her qualifications, or the next higher rate of pay on the wage grid which is equal to or greater than the employee’s present rate of pay. (b) Full-time employees who agree to temporarily transfer to a lower classification at the request of the Employer, shall continue to receive his/her present rate of pay plus any increases to that rate required by the Agreement. (c) An exchange of job duties may take place if (a) both employees agree; (b) the respective employee’s supervisors agree; and (c) the positions are in the same classification. Such transfers shall be for the time period agreed upon among the parties involved.
