Transition from Existing Evaluation System. A. The parties agree to determining a method to reassign Educators to a place in the cycle. PTS Educators may be assigned to Year 1, Year 2, or Year 3. Educators without PTS (NPTS) will be assigned to the next sequential year in their evaluation cycle until they achieve PTS at which point they will be placed on Year 1 for Educators with PTS. Notification to the Educator about the Educator’s placement on the evaluation cycle will be provided by the first day of the school year. B. The parties shall agree on a process for identifying the Educator Plan that each Educator will be placed on during the Educator's first year being evaluated under the new procedures in this Agreement, providing that Educators who have received ratings of unsatisfactory or its equivalent in the prior year will be placed on Directed Growth or an Improvement Plan of up to one year at the sole discretion of the Superintendent. C. The existing evaluation system will remain in effect until the provisions set forth in this Article are implemented. The relevant timeframe for adopting and implementing new systems is set forth in 603 CMR 35.11(1).
