Common use of Transition to Alert Clause in Contracts

Transition to Alert. Transition to Alert may occur during a Roads Services 4 employee’s regularly scheduled work day. In such cases, employees may be sent home before the 5 end of the regular shift in order to get rest prior to the start of their Alert shift, or may be required to 6 stay on their regular shift until the start of the Alert shift. The decision to send an employee home or 7 require them to remain at work will be determined by the County based on operational and safety 8 considerations, taking into consideration the desire of the employee. If the employee requests and is 9 approved to be relieved from their regular shift, the employee may use accrued vacation leave, 10 compensatory time, or leave without pay for that portion of the regular shift they did not work. If the 11 employee is relieved by management from their regular shift, the employee will be compensated for 12 the remainder of the shift.
