TRANSPORTATION, TRAVEL TIME, ROOM AND BOARD. 15.01 There shall be a free travel zone of ninety (90) kilometres by shortest public road from a job site. 15.02 Employees who are required to use their own vehicles for transportation purpose outside the free zone established in Article 15.01 shall be paid at the rate of forty-five cents ($0.45) per kilometre. Such payment will be deemed to represent compensation for the employee’s use of his vehicle as well as time spent traveling. 15.03 When employees are sent to work on a project located one hundred and fifty (150) kilometres or more from their residence; a) they will be paid a daily subsistence allowance of forty dollars ($40.00) per day spent out of town. b) they will be provided with suitable accommodation. For jobs of more than two (2) weeks duration, the Employer will ensure that such accommodation is equipped with adequate kitchen facilities. If there is a difference between the parties as to what is adequate, or where there are challenges acquiring adequate accommodations, the Employer will meet with the Union to discuss and mutually resolve the problem. c) they will be transported to the job by the Employer, or where the Employer does not provide transportation, shall receive mileage reimbursement for no more than one (1) trip to and from the project each week. The Employer shall reserve the right to make reasonable carpooling arrangements. 15.04 In the event an employee elects to commute to a job site beyond one hundred and fifty (150) kilometres from his home, where the Employer has offered to provide accommodation, the provisions of Article 13.03 shall not apply and the employee’s per day mileage compensation shall not exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00) per job. Furthermore, where an employee who was not commuting elects to do so, the employee must give the Employer at least one (1) weeks notice or the employee will receive no daily mileage compensation. 15.05 Mileage and travel allowances as set out in this Article shall be paid to employees in the week following in which expenses are incurred.

Where the accommodation provided is equipped with kitchen facilities the employee shall also receive a thirty dollar ($30.00) daily subsistence allowance. Where the accommodation provided is not equipped with kitchen facilities the employee shall also receive a forty dollar ($40.00) daily subsistence allowance. If particular circumstances require alternative arrangements, the Employer and the Union shall negotiate such arrangements. If the parties are unable to agree, the matter shall be settled by binding arbitration. For all projects transportation, travel time, and room and board will be noted on a free travel zone of ninety (90) kilometres by shortest public road from a Schedule “D” pre-job sitereport. 15.02 Employees 13.02 When the Employer obtains new work, present employees who reside within a 100 kilometre radius of the new jobsite shall have the right to transfer to such jobsite instead of being laid off from their current job, provided that they are required qualified to use do the available work, and provided their length of employment with the Employer is greater than that of employees in the same classification on the new jobsite. This article shall apply provided that the parties are able to reach an agreement under the provisions of article 13.01. 13.03 Present employees who request to be transferred to remote jobsites at their own vehicles for transportation purpose outside expense rather than be laid off, shall have the free zone established in Article 15.01 right to take such a transfer provided they are qualified to do the available work. 13.04 When an employee uses his own vehicle to travel between work sites, the Employer shall be paid reimburse such travel costs to the employee at the rate of forty-five six cents ($0.450.46) per kilometre. The Employer shall reserve the right to make reasonable carpooling arrangements. 15.04 In the event an employee elects to commute to a job site beyond one hundred and fifty (150) kilometres from his homeway, where the Employer has offered to provide accommodation, the provisions of Article 13.03 shall not apply and the at employee’s per day mileage compensation shall not exceed one hundred dollars straight time rates, for any projects where return travel time exceeds four ($100.004) per job. Applicable distance will be calculated based on the shortest reasonable distance travelled by road using Google Maps or an agreed upon alternative; e. if an employee's car is used for hauling company materials, the owner shall be paid forty-five cents (45¢) per kilometre for such usage. 14.02 Where the jobs are undertaken by the Employer in areas which are at any distance from the Employer's headquarters or home base and where employees are required to find board and lodgings, the Employer shall make the necessary arrangements and bear the costs of such board and lodgings. 14.03 It may be necessary in some cases that a special arrangement will have to be negotiated concerning travelling. Such payment will arrangements can be deemed implemented only after agreement has been reached between the Employer, the employee(s) involved and the Union. 14.04 Where an employee is required to represent compensation for the employee’s use of travel from job to job using his vehicle own vehicle, he shall receive travel time as well as time spent traveling. 15.03 When employees are sent to work on a project located one hundred and fifty (150) kilometres or more from their residence; a) they will be paid a daily subsistence allowance of forty dollars ($40.00) per day spent out of town. b) they will be provided with suitable accommodation.
