LOCAL HIRE. The lessee is encouraged to hire and employ local and Alaska residents and companies, to the extent they are available and qualified, for work performed on the leased area. Lessees shall submit, with the plans of operations, a proposal detailing the means by which the lessee will comply with this measure. The lessee is encouraged to coordinate with employment services offered by the State of Alaska and local communities to employ apprentices to perform work in the leased area and to recruit employees from local communities.
LOCAL HIRE. Licensee's construction activities are subject to the San Francisco Local Hiring Policy for Construction (“Local Hire Policy”) (San Francisco Administrative Code Section 6.22(G) unless the activities are undertaken and contracted for by Licensee and are estimated to cost less than $750,000 per building permit; are in connection with the set-up, execution and strike of special events of 4 or more consecutive or non-consecutive days costing in excess of $400,000; or meet any of the other exemptions in San Francisco Administrative Code Section 6.22(G). Accordingly, Licensee, as a condition of this License, agrees that, unless subject to an exemption or conditional waiver, Licensee shall comply with the obligations in San Francisco Administrative Code Section 6.22(G), and shall require Licensee's sublicensees to comply with those obligations to the extent applicable. Before starting any work subject to this Section, Licensee shall contact the City’s Office of Economic Workforce and Development (“OEWD”) to verify the Local Hire Policy requirements that apply to that work and shall comply with all such requirements. Licensee's failure to comply with the obligations in this subsection shall constitute a material breach of this License and may subject Licensee and its sublicensees to the consequences of noncompliance specified in the Local Hire Policy, including but not limited to penalties.
(1) For each contractor and subcontractor performing improvements in amounts exceeding the threshold amount above for a Covered Project, Licensee and its sublicensees shall comply with the applicable mandatory participation levels for Project Work Hours performed by Local Residents, Disadvantaged Workers, and Apprentices set forth in Administrative Code Section 6.22(G)(4).
(2) For Covered Projects estimated to cost more than $1,000,000, prior to commencement of any work subject to the Local Hire Policy, Licensee and its sublicensees shall prepare and submit to the SFPUC and OEWD for approval a local hiring plan for the project in accordance with Administrative Code §6.22(G)(6)(a).
(3) Licensee and its sublicensees shall comply with applicable recordkeeping and reporting requirements and shall cooperate in City inspections and audits for compliance with the Local Hire Policy, including allowing access to employees of its contractors and subcontractors and other witnesses at the License Area.

Any undefined, initially-capitalized term used in this Section shall have the meaning given to such term in San Francisco Administrative Code Section 23.62 (the "Local Hiring Requirements"). Tenant agrees that it will comply with the Local Hiring Requirements to the extent applicable. Before starting any Tenant Improvements or Alterations, Tenant shall contact City’s Office of Economic Workforce and Development ("OEWD") to determine whether the work is a Covered Project subject to the Local Hiring Requirements. Tenant shall include, and shall require its subtenants to include, a requirement to comply with the Local Hiring Requirements in any contract for a Covered Project with specific reference to San Francisco Administrative Code Section 23.62. Each such contract shall name the City and County of San Francisco as a third party beneficiary for the limited purpose of enforcing the Local Hiring Requirements, including the right to file charges and seek penalties. Tenant shall cooperate, and require its subtenants to cooperate, with the City in any action or proceeding against a contractor or subcontractor that fails to comply with the Local Hiring Requirements when required. Tenant’s failure to comply with its obligations under this Section shall constitute a material breach of this Lease. A contractor’s or subcontractor’s failure to comply with this Section will enable the City to seek the remedies specified in San Francisco Administrative Code Section 23.62 against the breaching party.
LOCAL HIRE. The City establishes the following Local Hire goals and commitments:
18.2.1 The parties agree to make a good faith effort to refer on a priority basis, consistent with the non-discriminatory refenal procedures of the applicable Union, qualified and available, Local Area Residents for Project work. The parties agree to a goal that Stockton residents shall perfo1m a minimum of 50% of the hours worked on the Project by the Contractors' total construction workforce. In the event that a sufficient number of Stockton residents are not available to fulfill the 50% local hire requirement, the next tier of residents shall come from anywhere in San Joaquin County. The Contractor(s) shall make good faith efforts to reach this goal through the utilization of the Unions' hiring hall procedures. The Unions shall exercise their best efforts in their recruiting and training of Stockton resident workers and in utilizing their hiring hall procedures to facilitate this 50% goal.
18.2.2 The parties also recognize and support the City's commitment to provide opportunities for participation on the Project to Stockton businesses through the City's Local Business Preference Ordinance. In furtherance of this commitment, the patties agree that such 323B-017ii Xxxxxxxx contractors and subcontractors awarded work on the Project may request by name, and the Local Union will honor, referral of persons who have applied to the Local Union for Project work, and who demonstrate the following qualifications:
(1) possess any license required by state or federal law for the Project work to be performed;
(2) have worked a total of at least two thousand (2,000) hours in the construction craft during the prior two (2) years;
(3) were on the Contractor's active payroll for at least ninety (90) out of the one hundred and twenty (120) calendar days prior to the contract award;
(4) have the ability to perform safely the basic functions of the applicable trade; and
(5) are Stockton residents. The Union will refer to such Contractor one journeyman employee from the hiring hall out-of-work list for the affected trade or craft, and will then refer one of such Contractor's "core" employees as a journeyman and shall repeat the process, one and one, until such Contractor's crew requirements are met or until such Contractor has hired five (5) "core" employees, whichever occurs first. Thereafter, all additional employees in the affected trade or craft shall be hired exclusively from the hiring hall out-of-wo...
LOCAL HIRE. The Lessee shall, during Pipeline Activities, comply with, and require its Contractors to comply with applicable and valid laws and regulations regarding the hiring of residents of the State then in effect or that take effect subsequently.
LOCAL HIRE. 8.2.1 To the extent allowed by law and consistent with the non-discriminatory referral procedures of the Union hiring halls, the Parties agree to a goal that Berkeley Residents will perform a minimum of 20% of the hours worked, on a craft by craft basis for the Projects. The Contractor(s) shall make good faith efforts to reach this goal through the utilization of the Unions' hiring hall procedures. The Unions shall exercise their best efforts in their recruiting and training of Berkeley Resident workers and in their hiring hall procedures to facilitate this 20% goal on the Projects. In the event that referral facilities maintained by the Union(s) are unable to fulfill the 20% local hire requirement, paragraph
8.2.2 of this Article shall not apply. Contractors shall document all efforts to hire locally and provide such documents to the City of Berkeley. The Council will provide an annual census of Berkeley residents, in each of the crafts party to this agreement, to the City of Berkeley. This report will be provided by August 1 of each year of this agreement. .
LOCAL HIRE. 10.1. It is an objective of the parties that not less than 25 percent (25%) of all hours worked by journeyman and apprentices on the Project, on a craft by craft basis, be worked by residents of the area served by the Contra Costa Community College District. The Unions will exert their utmost efforts to recruit sufficient numbers of skilled craft persons to fulfill the requirements of the Contractor(s)/Employer(s). The parties to this Agreement support the development of increased numbers of skilled construction workers from the area served by the District. To the extent allowed by law, and consistent with the local Union's hiring hall provisions, and as long as they possess the requisite skills and qualifications, residents of the area served by the District, including journeyman and apprentices, shall be referred for Project work covered by this Agreement.
LOCAL HIRE. The union and employers commit their best effort in offering “Local Hire” opportunities as required in area Project Labor Agreements. Accordingly, the employers will utilize every other of their 50% name-calls, when hiring new employees to meet these goals, upon availability of employees through the normal hiring hall process.
LOCAL HIRE. The Local Union Business Representative will be contacted by the Company on all occasions when employees are required, and the Company shall state that the employees are required for maintenance work. The employees shall be referred to the Company in the following order:
