Types of Assignments. The assignment of each classified bargaining unit member 6 shall be designated as either probationary or permanent. Assignments may be part-time 7 or full time, and for twelve (12) months per year or less.

Types of Assignments. Full time work assignments will consist of two types: Regular Assignments and Extra Board Assignments.
Types of Assignments. Shared/Double Occupancy - There are multiple occupancy levels (two, three, four, or six residents per unit) and two students share a bedroom space. Individual/Single Occupancy - There are multiple occupancy levels (one, two, three, four, or five residents per unit) and each student has a bedroom space. There can be multiple students in the suite or apartment, but each resident in this type of occupancy has their own bedroom space. Medical-Accommodations – These are a limited number of assigned for students with unique circumstances due to medical reasons. Students who believe they require accommodation for medical reasons should contact the Office of Disability Services. Students are highly encouraged to complete this process before they register for housing. Exceeded Occupancy - If housing demand exceeds capacity, the University reserves the right to use a limited number of temporary room assignments on campus. Determining Housing Assignments All assignments are made without regard to race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex (including sexual harassment), pregnancy, age (40 and over), order of protection status, marital status, sexual orientation (including gender-related identity), military status, unfavorable military discharge, disability, arrest record, and familial status in compliance with the Illinois Human Rights Act (775 ILCS 5/). The University rejects all requests for assignment changes based upon those reasons. Incoming students (first years and transfers) are assigned housing based on the following criteria: 1) date of received application, 2) indicated housing by space availability, 3) roommate preferences, and 4) personality, interests, hobbies, and behavior information. Returning students are assigned housing during the Housing Renewal Process. An outline of this process will be provided to students by the Office of Residence Life in the Spring semester. Academically registered returning students who fail to renew their housing will be automatically assigned by the Office of Residence Life after all other assignments have been made. Students are not guaranteed a specific room, particular room type, residential area, or roommate(s). However, the Office of Residence Life will do its best to honor student preferences. Applications will usually encompass a wide variety of purposes including experimental projects involving development of teaching methods and materials, curriculum improvement, teacher-student relationships, subject matter research in one’s field or specialization, and other professional activities.
