UNION DUES AND PAYROLL DEDUCTION. 3.1 The City agrees to deduct from the paycheck of each employee, who has so authorized it, the regular initiation fee, regular monthly dues, assessments and other fees as certified by the Union. The amounts deducted shall be transmitted monthly to the Union on behalf of the employees involved. 3.2 The performance of this function is recognized as a service to the Union by the City and the City shall honor the terms and conditions of each worker’s Union payroll deduction authorization(s) for the purposes of dues deduction only. 3.3 The Union agrees to indemnify and hold the City harmless from all claims, demands, suits or other forms of liability that arise against the City for deducting dues from Union members pursuant to this Article, including those that have communicated a desire to revoke a previous deduction authorization, along with all other issues related to the deduction of dues or fees. 3.4 The City will provide the Union access to all newly hired employees and/or persons entering the bargaining unit within thirty (30) days of such hire or entry into the bargaining unit. 3.5 The Union and a shop xxxxxxx/member leader will have at least thirty (30) minutes with such individuals during the employee’s normal working hours and at their usual worksite or mutually agreed upon location. 3.6 The City will require all new employees to attend a New Employee Orientation (NEO) within thirty
