The Unit Security Officer will be responsible for the conduct of daily physical, technical and procedural security services for the Defense Component office and will assist the RSO, as requested, in DOD investigative activities. The Unit Security Officer will be trained and guided by the RSO in the execution of security functions for post Defense Component offices.

Permission to leave work during working hours for such purposes shall first be obtained from the immediate supervisor. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld.
