Union Officers and Committee Members. Union Officers and Committee Members shall be entitled to leave their work during working hours in order to carry out their functions under this Agreement, including, but not limited to, the investigation and processing of grievances, attendance at meetings with the Employer, participation in negotiations and arbitration. Permission to leave work, including duration, during working hours for such purposes shall first be obtained from the immediate supervisor. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld.

Union Officers and Committee Members. Union Officers and committee members may be permitted to leave their work temporarily during working hours in order to investigate and process grievances, and to attend meetings with the Employer. Permission to leave work during working hours for such purposes shall first be obtained from the immediate Supervisor. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. All time spent in performing such Union duties shall be without loss of remuneration.
Union Officers and Committee Members. Where Union officers and committee members are required to be absent from their positions in order to carry out their functions under this agreement at the request of, or by mutual consent of the Board, such permission may be granted by the Manager of Human Resources. Where such a meeting is arranged during working hours, employees will not suffer any reduction in normal pay for that time. Time off for grievance related matters will be as per Article 12 (Grievance Procedure).
Union Officers and Committee Members. Employees who are full-time officers of Local Union 1700, national or state AFL-CIO, the Amalgamated Transit Union or the plan administrator of a Greyhound/Local 1700 trust will be granted the necessary leave of absence to permit the performance of their duties and will continue to accumulate seniority during such leave. Employees who are full-time officers of Local Union 1700 or the plan administrator of a Greyhound/Local 1700 trust will continue to be covered by the Greyhound-ATU Health and Welfare Trust plan on the same terms as active employees. Co-payments for such health benefits will be received by the Greyhound-ATU Health and Welfare Trust by the 10th day of each month of such coverage. Employees who are on official Union business will be granted the necessary leaves of absence to permit the performance of their duties, provided reasonable notice, in writing, is given and the number of granted leaves does not interfere with the business of the Company. Such employees will suffer no loss of rights or benefits enjoyed by other employees by reason of their absence from duty. The Union agrees its members will not abuse the rights granted under this provision. The leave rate for the Executive Vice-President of the Union will be the average daily rate of pay of his/her current run. The average will be calculated by totaling seven days beginning on the previous Monday and ending on Sunday and dividing by six.

The Union recognizes that the employee's primary responsibility is to the Employer and will normally give reasonable notice of absence in order that adjustments and/or replacement staff can be located. On resuming his normal duties, the employee shall notify his supervisor.
Union Officers and Committee Members. The Union acknowledges that the Xxxxxxx has regular duties to perform on behalf of the Employer. In a situation which requires a Xxxxxxx'x attention during working hours, he shall not leave his regular duties without first obtaining permission to do so from his direct supervisor. It is understood that the taking of such time away from regular duties shall be without loss of pay and shall be kept to a minimum and that permission will not therefore be unreasonably withheld.

Union Officers and Committee Members. Union officers and members of joint Union Employer committees specified in this Agreement, shall be entitled to leave their work during their normal working hours in order to carry out their functions under this Agreement. Permission to leave work during their normal working hours for such purposes shall first be obtained from the immediate supervisor. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. All time spent in performing such Union duties, including work performed on the specified committees, shall be considered as time worked.
Union Officers and Committee Members. The Employer acknowledges the right of the Union to elect or otherwise select from the bargaining unit Stewards to assist Employees in presenting their grievances to the representative of the Employer. The Union acknowledges that the Stewards have regular duties to perform on behalf of the Employer and that such persons will not leave their regular duties without the permission of their immediate supervisor. Permission from the Supervisor will not be unreasonably withheld. This does not apply to time spent on such matters outside the regular working hours.

The Union understands and agrees that Union Officers are employed to perform full time work for the Employer and that they shall not leave their work during working hours without first obtaining permission from her supervisor. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. All time spent in performing such duties shall be considered as time worked. If a Union Officer or Committee member is requested by the Employer to attend a meeting on their scheduled day off, the member will be paid straight time for the duration of the meeting.
