Common use of Unpaid Leave of Absence Defined Clause in Contracts

Unpaid Leave of Absence Defined. An unpaid leave of absence shall mean the employee shall have deducted an amount equal to 1/22 of the employee’s total regular monthly salary for each work day of such absence, except that when only two (2) or less days are actually worked in any one month, the employee shall be paid 1/22 of the employee’s total regular monthly salary for each actual day worked during that month. An employee who is granted an unpaid leave of absence shall not be entitled to any paid leave benefits during the period of such unpaid leave, with the exception of participation in the Classified Professional Development Leave Program.
