Common use of Unpaid Leave of Absence - Family Illness Clause in Contracts

Unpaid Leave of Absence - Family Illness. The Board may grant a leave of absence without pay for a period not to exceed one (1) year to an administrator for the sole purpose of caring for a sick member of the immediate family of that administrator and additional leave may be granted at the sole discretion of the Board and for good cause shown. Provided however, that no leave of absence shall be granted as herein contemplated unless the administrator requested said leave of absence shall first submit to the Board a written medical certification from the attending or treating physician which certifies both the illness of the immediate family and the medical necessity for the rendering of home care by the administrator.
