Unplanned Cessation of Parental Leave. (a) If parental leave has commenced, or has been approved but not commenced, and: (i) in the case of maternity leave, the pregnancy of the employee terminates other than by the birth of a living child, or the employee’s child dies during the period that the staff member is on leave; or (ii) in the case of adoption leave, the child dies during the period that the employee is on leave; the employee will be entitled to sick leave and bereavement leave in addition to any entitlement to such leave set out elsewhere in this Agreement to a maximum of 14 weeks from the date or expected date of birth or placement of the child. (b) A medical certificate will be required to support any period of leave pursuant to subclause 38.10(a) above.
