VALVES AND FITTINGS. A. General 1. Install buried valves on top of an 18-inch square, 3-inch thick, solid concrete pad (minimum dimensions). The concrete pad may be provided by a pre-cast manufacturer or cast-in-place in the field above grade. Concrete used for the pads shall be a minimum 3,000 psi mix. The pads may not be cast-in-place in the pipe trench. Connection to pipe shall be such that there shall be no stress at the joint caused by misalignment or inadequate support of pipe or valve. 2. Install fittings as recommended by the manufacturer. Fittings shall be blocked or otherwise restrained from movement.

VALVES AND FITTINGS. The Contractor shall provide isolating valves as shown on mechanical drawings and these shall be of the quarter turn ball valve as manufactured by Xxxxxxxxxx Ltd. or Crane. Provide double check valves as manufactured by Xxxxxxxxxx Ltd. or Crane. Provide pressure- regulating valves as manufactured by Xxxxxxxxxx Ltd. or Crane. Provide pressure and temperature gauges as manufactured by Xxxxxxxxxx Ltd. or Crane. Provide mixing valves as manufactured by Xxxxxxxxxx Ltd. or Crane. The pressure and temperature gauges will always be preceded by an isolation valve to allow for their replacement without inference with the current water system.
