Common use of Vehicle Safety Clause in Contracts

Vehicle Safety. The City shall provide safe vehicles for use by City EMPLOYEES, whenever an EMPLOYEE'S duties require operation of a motor vehicle. All necessary repairs and maintenance of vehicles shall be performed to insure the safety of the operator. Under no circumstances shall a supervisor of the City require an EMPLOYEE to operate an unsafe vehicle. Routine maintenance of City vehicles shall be no less than recommended by the manufacturer. Only high quality parts and tires will be used on City vehicles. EMPLOYEES shall not be required to use their own vehicles for City business.
