Grievance Defined. A grievance is defined as an alleged breach of the terms and conditions of this Agreement. It is the desire of the parties to this Agreement that grievances be adjusted informally wherever possible and at the first level of supervision.

Grievance Defined. A. A grievance shall be defined as a claim by an employee or group of employees adversely affected by an alleged violation, misinterpretation or misapplication of the Memorandum of Understanding, department-wide policy or practice or County rules, regulations, resolutions, ordinances, or side letters of agreement applicable to the employee except the following issues that provide their own means of administrative review:

In order to be subject to the following procedure, any grievance must be submitted at the first applicable step within fourteen (14) calendar days from the date when the employee or the Union was aware, or reasonably should have been aware, that a grievance existed. All grievances not filed within the fourteen (14) day period are deemed waived by the aggrieved party.
