Employees with a Worksafe BC claim who utilize their sick leave entitlements for the first day of absence will not have the first day of absence count as an occurrence for the purposes of Article 17.10 (a) and (b) provided the claim has been accepted by Worksafe BC. Where disability payments are payable under the Workers' Compensation Act, the employee shall have her/his WCB benefit augmented by the Corporation so as to provide 85% of the employee's normal pay.
