Another great event was the 100 Hours of Astronomy that took place in April 2009. The Xxxxxxxx’x Xxxxxxx exhibit features one of only two remaining telescopes that Xxxxxxx trained on the night skies 400 years ago. This is the first time the telescope has ever left Italy. The web streaming event features exclusive commentary from the exhibitors behind the Galileo exhibit, including one of the world’s foremost Galileo experts, Xx. Xxxxx Xxxxxxxx, Director of the Institute and Museum of the History of Science in Florence, Italy where the Galileo telescope and other artifacts are ordinarily on display, telescope-maker and global IYA and 100 Hours of Astronomy sponsor Celestron with a telescope demonstration and an 100 hours public observatory event with the support of a network of robotic telescopes all around the world.
