Common use of Witness and Jury Duty Leave Clause in Contracts

Witness and Jury Duty Leave. A nurse who is summoned for jury duty 2 or as a witness in a judicial proceeding shall be granted a leave of absence for 3 these purposes. The nurse must notify his or her supervisor immediately upon 4 receipt of the notice or summons, and provide a copy. Nurses who are regularly 5 scheduled to work twenty (20) or more hours per week and comply with these 6 requirements will receive regular pay for each normally-scheduled day away from 8 PTO or take the leave as unpaid, but must reimburse the Employer for any 9 payment received from the Court for these services. If a nurse is not required by 10 the Court to be present for the full day, the nurse will return to work for the 11 remainder of the day or may use PTO or take the remainder of the day as unpaid 12 leave.
