Witnesses, Victims and Complainants. Extreme care and careful consideration should be taken where the disclosure of information includes details of witnesses, victims or complainants. The general rule is that information such as described by witnesses, victims or complainants should not be disclosed without first obtaining fully informed, specific and explicit consent from the individual concerned. In all such cases, advice should be sought from the legal department, Information Sharing Officer and/or Data Protection Officer.
