Common use of Workplace Violence and Harassment Prevention and Control Clause in Contracts

Workplace Violence and Harassment Prevention and Control. The Employer agrees to take steps to counteract workplace violence and harassment in accordance with its obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Without limitation, the Employer agrees as follows: (a) In consultation with the Joint Health and Safety Committee, violence and harassment prevention and control measures shall be established and implemented, including procedures, practices, equipment and training necessary for the health and safety of workers. (b) At least once a year the violence and harassment prevention and control measures shall be reviewed and revised in the light of current knowledge and practice. (c) The review and revision shall be done more frequently than annually if: (i) the employer, in consultation with the joint health and safety committee, determines that such review and revision is necessary; or (ii) there is a change in circumstances that may affect the health and safety of a worker. (d) The Employer will provide training on violence and harassment prevention and control measures, to all new employees during orientation.
