Workplace Safety. The parties to this Agreement commit themselves to achieving the highest possible standards of occupational health and safety including adherence to the consultative and issue resolution processes included herein. Participation in and support for building and construction industry initiatives to improve construction industry standards in occupational health and safety will form an important part of this commitment. Observance of relevant Acts, Regulations, and Codes of Practice are the minimum level acceptable to enable employers and employees to meet their responsibilities and to work safely and follow health and safety rules in their workplace. On all sites there will be developed a site safety plan and job specific ‘job safety analysis’ to identify and manage the risks associated with work on each particular site. Such safety plan will include suitable procedures for personnel/material access, and site evacuation procedures. The Incolink Safety Handbook ‘SAFE’ (as amended) is endorsed by this Agreement as a proper guide and reference source for safety management and control of risks. 1) The parties agree that the WorkSafe Australia Guidance Notes on Material Safety Data Sheets shall be observed at all times. 2) Hearing tests: Audiometric tests should be conducted within two months of a person commencing employment, and thereafter at intervals of two years.

Workplace Safety. In accordance with Executive Order 13513, Federal Leadership on Reducing Text Messaging While Driving (Oct. 1, 2009) and DOT Order 3902.10, Text Messaging While Driving (Dec. 30, 2009), the Recipient, subrecipients, contractors, and subcontractors are encouraged to: (1) adopt and enforce workplace safety policies to decrease crashes caused by distracted drivers including policies to ban text messaging while driving— (i) Company-owned or -rented vehicles or Government-owned, leased or rented vehicles; or (ii) Privately-owned vehicles when on official Government business or when performing any work for or on behalf of the Government. (2) Conduct workplace safety initiatives in a manner commensurate with the size of the business, such as— (i) Establishment of new rules and programs or re-evaluation of existing programs to prohibit text messaging while driving; and (ii) Education, awareness, and other outreach to employees about the safety risks associated with texting while driving.
Workplace Safety. 22.1 Safety Committees will be held in accordance with applicable laws. Upon request, the Employer will notify the Union when the Safety Committee will meet. Minutes of the Safety Committee meetings will be posted or made otherwise available for review. 22.2 In addition to the store level safety committees, the Employer and the Unions will jointly set up a Master Safety Committee, made up of (2) members from each Union (UFCW Local 21, UFCW Local 367, and Teamsters Local 38), and up to an equal number of members from the Company. If necessary to address certain issues at a workplace either party may invite guests, with prior approval of the committee. The Master Safety Committee will meet periodically, and no less frequently than once per quarter, to review workplace safety matters. The parties will discuss and work toward resolving safety issues in the workplaces. In addition, the Company and the Union agree that they will continue to discuss and jointly address safety related issues and/or questions about the Company’s safety program in good faith. 22.3 The Company agrees that it shall provide safety training in accordance with the law and its policies as necessary. In addition, the store safety committees may recommend training subjects and those recommendations will be considered and acted upon by the Master Safety Committee. 22.4 The parties agree that no party shall retaliate against any employee for bringing forward safety issues. 22.5 Nothing in this article shall be interpreted to diminish the Employer’s rights/obligations or employees’ rights/obligations under applicable laws or current Company practices and policies. 22.6 The Company and Union agree that the Employer is responsible for maintaining a sound safety program and its employees are responsible for adhering to the safety program.

Workplace Safety. It is the goal of the County of Ventura to promote a safe environment for all people in the workplace. It is also the County’s intent to properly manage any incidents that occur so as to minimize injury and other forms of loss. In order for the County to achieve its goals, it adheres to all federal, state and local regulations in addition to having developed a workplace safety program outlining the policies and procedures regarding employee health and safety. Each and every individual must become familiar with the program, follow and enforce the procedures, and become an active participant in this workplace safety program. While management (the workplace safety officer and Risk Management) will be responsible for developing and organizing this program, its success will depend on the involvement of each employee. Therefore, it’s the responsibility of all employees to report all threatening behavior or unsafe conditions to management immediately. The Professional Practice Committee may recommend in writing to the nurse manager representative on the Hospital Safety Committee that a particular health and safety issue affecting nurses be presented for consideration by the safety committee/officer. The Professional Practice Committee shall be notified regarding the outcome.

Workplace Safety. 18.1 The District is committed to providing a safe and healthful workplace for all employees. Bargaining unit members shall not be required to work in unsafe conditions or to perform tasks that endanger their health and/or safety. 18.2 Bargaining unit members must notify their immediate supervisor in writing concerning any unsafe condition in the District affecting their health and safety. The immediate supervisor shall investigate the reported unsafe condition and advise the unit member(s) in writing within ten (10) days of any findings and suggested corrected action. The District shall take the necessary steps to have the condition corrected in a timely manner. 18.2.1 Should an unsafe working condition be discovered by district personnel other than a unit member who is directly affected by the unsafe working condition, the unit member shall be notified via district email of the issue and the plans for resolution. 18.3 The District shall ensure adequate means for communication between a teacher and the office for emergency situations. An administrator or designee shall be designated at each site at all times 18.4 When requested by either party, Education Code Provisions related to workplace safety will be incorporated into next subsequent employee handbook printing. Provisions include, but are not limited to: 18.5 Nurses shall receive notification of known serious student health concerns when information is received by the District. The Nurse will be given three days upon notification to investigate the student’s healthcare needs and obtain necessary physician authorizations and medical supplies.
