Common use of Workweek and Lunch Break Clause in Contracts

Workweek and Lunch Break. A. The workweek of unit personnel shall be regular recurring periods of 168 consecutive hours in the form of seven (7) consecutive twenty–four (24) hour periods, as designated by the District. Eighty (80) hours shall constitute a full pay period of work. Work hours shall be as designated by the District. Employees shall be notified of any change in designated work hours/days at least five (5) calendar days in advance, except in cases of emergency. The workday and the pay periods shall be designated by the District. B. Employees who work five (5) hours per day or more must take an unpaid lunch break of at least one–half (1/2) hour. This lunch break should be taken at or about midway through the workday.
