OriginStamp App. The app can be used to create images, sound or video files that remain locally on the customer's end device. Using the app, timestamping can then be performed as described in section 7. The app stores a list of the timestamps created by the app on the customer's de- vice. The customer's files are not transferred to Ori- ginStamp. Using the service, the customer can create a hash value from his files according to the SHA-256 proce- dure. The hash value is then transmitted to the system together with the customer's file name and API key. The hash value is generated by the client, i.e. before it is transmitted to OriginStamp, so it is guaranteed that the data to be timestamped are not transmitted to Ori- ginStamp itself. In case the hash value already existed, OriginStamp will inform the customer accordingly. In this case, the system will not generate a timestamp. OriginStamp generates a data structure ("hash tree") using the hash value of the customer's file and the hashes of the files of other users. This data structure is then used to generate a root hash ("total hash value"). This total hash value is calculated at least once a day and anchored in a blockchain. By means of certain parts of the hash tree ("metadata") it can then be un- derstood, a) whether the hash value is contained in the hash tree and b) the total hash value of the hash tree has been anchored in the blockchain. Insofar as the customer wishes to be able to prove or trace the stored hash value in the blockchain without gespeicherten Hashwert in der Blockchain nachweisen bzw. zurückverfolgen zu können, muss er die Meta- Daten selbständig speichern. However, in case of Open Source software, the respective license conditions of such software shall be applicable. The customer agrees to use the API only for own purpos- es and will not allow any third party to use it, whether for payment or free of charge. In particular, the customer may not use OriginStamp's services to offer a timestamp- ing service to third parties. The customer is only permit- ted to use OriginStamp's services indirectly towards third parties if they are a secondary component of a product offered by the customer on the market In the event of a violation of these provisions, Ori- ginStamp is entitled to block the customer's access until proof of legality has been furnished. The individual scope of services can be seen in the de- scription of the respective services available at the time of use. OriginStamp may modify its services to the extent that this is reasonable for the customer, taking into ac- count the interests of the customer and of OriginStamp.
