Medically accurate means verified or supported by research conducted in compliance with scientific methods and published in peer-reviewed journals, where appropriate, and recognized as accurate and objective by professional organizations and agencies with expertise in the relevant field, such as the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the American Public Health Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Generally accepted standards of medical practice , as used above, means standards that are based on:
Medically stationary means that no further material improvement would reasonably be expected from medical treatment or the passage of time.
Group practice means a group of two or more health care providers legally organized as a partnership, professional corporation, or similar association:
Periodically regenerating system means an exhaust emissions control device (e.g. catalytic converter, particulate trap) that requires a periodical regeneration
Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice means the current standards of the appraisal profession, developed for appraisers and users of appraisal services by the Appraisal Standards Board of the Appraisal Foundation.
Technically Feasible refers solely to technical or operational concerns, rather than economic, space, or site considerations.
Collaborative practice means that a physician may delegate aspects of drug therapy management for the physician’s patients to an authorized pharmacist through a community practice protocol. “Collaborative practice” also means that a P&T committee may authorize hospital pharmacists to perform drug therapy management for inpatients and hospital clinic patients through a hospital practice protocol.
Financially Literate means the ability to read and understand a set of financial statements that present a breadth and level of complexity of accounting issues that are generally comparable to the breadth and complexity of the issues that can reasonably be expected to be raised by the Corporation’s financial statements.
medically approved means certified by a medical practitioner;
Developmentally appropriate means suitable to the chronological age range and developmental characteristics of a specific group of children.
medical food means a food that is intended for the dietary treatment of a disease or condition for which nutritional requirements are established by medical evaluation and is formulated to be consumed or administered enterally under the direction of a Practitioner.
Nonambulatory means the condition of a person who immediately and without aid of another is not physically or mentally capable of traveling a normal path to safety, including the ascent and descent of stairs.
Licensed Independent Practitioner means any individual permitted by law and by the Medical Staff and Board to provide care and services without direction or supervision, within the scope of the individual’s license and consistent with individually granted clinical privileges.
Proper practices means those set out in The Practitioners’ Guide
Practice of medicine or osteopathic medicine means the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of
Nationally tracked source means a sealed source containing a quantity equal to or greater than Category 1 or Category 2 levels of any radioactive material listed in 12VAC5-481-3780. In this context a sealed source is defined as radioactive material that is sealed in a capsule or closely bonded, in a solid form and that is not exempt from regulatory control. It does not mean material encapsulated solely for disposal, or nuclear material contained in any fuel assembly, subassembly, fuel rod, or fuel pellet. Category 1 nationally tracked sources are those containing radioactive material at a quantity equal to or greater than the Category 1 threshold. Category 2 nationally tracked sources are those containing radioactive material at a quantity equal to or greater than the Category 2 threshold but less than the Category 1 threshold.
Medically Appropriate means services and medical supplies required for prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of a physical or behavioral health condition or injuries that are:
Unsafe or unsound practice means a practice or conduct by a person licensed to engage in money transmission or an authorized delegate of such a person, which creates the likelihood of material loss, insolvency, or dissipation of the licensee’s assets, or otherwise materially prejudices the interests of its customers.
Electronically Stored Information means any system backup tapes, any electronic mail (whether on an exchange or other similar system), any data on personal computers and any data on server hard drives.
Socially and economically disadvantaged person means an individual who is a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States and who is Black, Hispanic, Native American, Asian, Female; or a member of another group or an individual found to be disadvantaged by the Small Business Administration pursuant to Section 3 of the Small Business Act.
Medical Foods means nutritional substances in any form that are:
Substantially similar means substantially similar in function or capability or otherwise competitive to the products or services being developed, manufactured or sold by the Company during and/or at the end of Executive’s employment, or are marketed to substantially the same type of user or customer as that to which the products and services of the Company are marketed or proposed to be marketed.
Restorative practices means practices that emphasize repairing the harm to the victim and the school community caused by a student's misconduct.
Physically helpless means that a person is unconscious or for any other reason is physically unable to communicate unwillingness to an act.
Licensed health care practitioner means a physician, as defined in Section 1861(r)(1) of the Social Security Act, a registered professional nurse, licensed social worker or other individual who meets requirements prescribed by the Secretary of the Treasury.
