Air Ambulance Services definition

Air Ambulance Services means, for purposes of this section only, medical transport by helicopter or airplane for patients.

• If You get other services at Participating Facilities, Non-Participating Providers can’t balance bill You unless You give written consent and give up Your protections.If Your Plan includes Air Ambulance Services as a covered service, and such services are provided by a Non-Participating Provider, the most the Non-Participating Provider may bill You is Your in-network cost-share.

• The Member cannot be balance billed for these Air Ambulance Services.

• For Air Ambulance Services received from a Non-Participating Provider, if the services would be covered if received from a Participating Provider, the amount used to calculate the Member’s cost-share requirements, including Deductibles, Copayments, and/or Coinsurance, will be the lesser of the Qualifying Payment Amount or billed charges.

• EXCLUSIONS:The following services are excluded from coverage: Acupuncture Air Ambulance Services when a Client could be safely transported by ground ambulance or by means other than ambulance.
