Approved Professional Development activities fall into three (3) areas: a.
The first Continuing Professional Development Cycle will commence on this date, with the first annual report of Approved Professional Development activities due December 31, 2016.
Examples of factors that the Board may consider are:• A change in member status to retired or nonpractising;• A member demonstrating registration in an Approved Professional Development activity from category 2(a) of this policy to the satisfaction of the Board;• Health concerns of the member or their immediate familyThe Board is not limited to considering only these factors and must adjudicate the specific application before them.
Approved Professional Development Provider - means any organization which provides content for professional development credit, whether delivered in a face-to-face, televised or internet mode of delivery, whose content has been approved by the ADE to meet the annual professional development credit requirements imposed upon licensed teachers and administrators by Arkansas Statutes and ADE Rules.
Any newly commissioned members, or members with a change in member status (i.e. moving from the non-practicing to the practicing roster) on or before March 1 shall commence their first Continuing Professional Development Cycle within the same calendar year, with the first annual report of Approved Professional Development activities due on December 31 of that year.
