Area A1 definition

Area A1 means an area within the radio telephone coverage of at least one VHF coast station and in which continuous DSC alerting is available, and as advised by a Contracting Government to the Organization;
Area A1 means a sea area included in the range of at least one shore based VHF radio station with possibility for continuous digital selective distress signal calling (DSC); Area A2 - within the range of at least one shore based middle wave (MF) radio station with possibility for continuous digital selective distress signal calling (DSC); Area A3 -within the range of at least one of the geostationary satellites for maritime communications (between parallels 70 oN and 70 oS), and Area A4 - sea area out of areas A1, A2 and A3;

Related to Area A1

  • Area A means the area marked “Area A” outlined in red on the Plan (excluding that part shaded grey on the Plan);

  • Unstable area means a location that is susceptible to natural or human-induced events or forces capable of impairing the integrity of some or all of the landfill structural components responsible for preventing releases from a landfill. Unstable areas can include poor foundation conditions, areas susceptible to mass movements, and Karst terranes.

  • Acre-foot means the amount of water necessary to cover one acre of land to the depth of one foot, or 325,851 U.S. gallons of water.

  • Parking Garage means a building or portion of a building, other than a private garage, that is used for the temporary parking of motor vehicles;

  • Class I area means a mandatory visibility protection area designated pursuant to section 169A of the federal Clean Air Act.
