  • Loss of Hand or Foot means complete severance through or above the wrist or ankle joint. (In South Carolina, "Loss of Hand" can also mean the loss of four whole fingers from one hand.)

  • Contract or other written agreement means a binding agreement between an educational agency and a third-party, which includes, but is not limited to, an agreement created in electronic form and signed with an electronic or digital signature or a click-wrap agreement that is used with software licenses, downloaded, and/or online applications and transactions for educational technologies and other technologies in which a user must agree to terms and conditions prior to using the product or service.

  • Contract or Contract Document means the written agreement executed by the Owner and Contractor setting forth the obligations of the parties, including but not limited to performance of the work, furnishing of labor, equipment and materials, and the basis of payment. It shall include but not necessarily be limited to the Request for Qualifications, Contractor’s Submittal, the Invitation for Bid, the Bid, the General Conditions of the Contract, Special Provisions, Performance Bond, Payment Bond, Certificate of Insurance, Drawings, Specifications, Addenda, Minority Enterprise Business forms, written Change Orders, extra Work Orders, and Agreements required to complete the construction of the project, including authorized extensions thereof, in an acceptable manner, all of which constitute one instrument.

  • Joint Venture means a joint venture, partnership or other similar arrangement, whether in corporate, partnership or other legal form; provided, in no event shall any corporate Subsidiary of any Person be considered to be a Joint Venture to which such Person is a party.

  • Victim or target of Nazi persecution means any individual persecuted or targeted for persecution by

  • Total organic carbon or ”TOC” means total organic carbon reported in units of milligrams per liter (mg/L), as measured using heat, oxygen, ultraviolet irradiation, chemical oxidants, or combinations of these oxidants that convert organic carbon to carbon dioxide, rounded to two significant figures.

  • Joint Venture (JV means an association with or without a legal personality distinct from that of its members, of more than one Consultant where one member has the authority to conduct all business for and on behalf of any and all the members of the JV, and where the members of the JV are jointly and severally liable to the Procuring Entity for the performance of the Contract.

  • Inter-connected Entity means two or more companies having any of the following features:-

  • Group contract means a contract for health care services which by its terms limits eligibility to members of a specified group. The group contract may include coverage for dependents.

  • Group Entity means any of the Company and Subsidiaries of the Company.

  • UK Bail-in Liability means a liability in respect of which the UK Bail-in Powers may be exercised.

  • Deportation or forcible transfer of population means forced displacement of the persons concerned by expulsion or other coercive acts from the area in which they are lawfully present, without grounds permitted under international law;

  • No-load Cost means the hourly cost required to create the starting point of a monotonically increasing incremental offer curve for a generating unit.

  • BNY Affiliate means any office, branch or subsidiary of The Bank of New York Company, Inc.

  • Third Party Liability means both of the following:

  • At no cost means that all specially-designed instruction is provided without charge, but does not preclude incidental fees that are normally charged to nondisabled students or their parents as a part of the regular education program.

  • Attack directed against any civilian population means a course of conduct involving the multiple commission of acts referred to in paragraph 1 against any civilian population, pursuant to or in furtherance of a State or organizational policy to commit such attack;

  • Torture means the intentional infliction of severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, upon a person in the custody or under the control of the accused; except that torture shall not include pain or suffering arising only from, inherent in or incidental to, lawful sanctions;

  • Effectively owned or controlled means that a foreign government or any entity controlled by a foreign government has the power, either directly or indirectly, whether exercised or exercisable, to control the election, appointment, or tenure of the Offeror's officers or a majority of the Offeror's board of directors by any means, e.g., ownership, contract, or operation of law (or equivalent power for unincorporated organizations).

  • Group Companies means the Company and its Subsidiaries.
