Board certified physician definition

Board certified physician means a physician who has taken and passed a medical specialty examination.
Board certified physician means an individual licensed under Chapter 4731. of the Revised Code to practice medicine and surgery or osteopathic medicine and surgery who has passed an examination given by a medical specialty board and has been certified by that board as a specialist. "Board certified" does not include board eligible physicians. For physicians certified by more than one board, "board certified": includes only the primary certification board.
Board certified physician or "Board Eligible Physician" means a physician who has satisfactorily completed an examination (or is "eligible" to take such examination) in a medical specialty and has taken all of the specific training requirements for certification by a specialty board. For purposes of this definition, "medical specialty" shall mean a specific area of medical practice by health care professionals. A listing of specialty boards may be found in Appendix A of this Part.
