Boil off gas definition

Boil off gas. (BOG) means the gas produced due to vaporisation of cryogenic liquid by heat conducted through the insulation;
Boil off gas means Regasified LNG that results from the natural and spontaneous vaporization of LNG while, as applicable, such LNG is in an LNG Vessel or the Terminal facilities (excluding the vaporization facilities).
Boil off gas means Gas or vapor that boils off as a result of the operation of SLNG’s facilities.

Examples of Boil off gas in a sentence

  • Boil off gas (methane) can be used as fuel during the voyage, causing interaction between cargo and machinery systems to an extent not found on othership types.The rapid increase in LNG ship construct- ion, after a lean period in the 1980s and early 1990s, has led to significant changes in the way the LNG ships are purchased and operated.

  • Boil off gas generated during LNG carrier loading will be collected and compressed by BOG compressors then returned to the LNG tanks.

  • Boil off gas generated in the tubes must be returned to the condenser pot from the top of the magnet cooling tubes in a separate pipe.

  • Boil off gas is returned to the refrigerator via a warm line that sends gas back to compressor suction.

  • However, the design features of the plants are different among them even in a category, depending on the method used to process the BOG.Only LNG carrier uses the cargo for fuel, as Boil off gas (BOG) and/or forcing-vaporized LNG (FVG).This approach reflects the reality that the BOG can be reduced but not entirely eliminated so far.
