Central Arizona Project. ’ means the reclamation
Central Arizona Project means those works as described in section 1521(a) of the Colorado River Basin Project Act of 1968 (43 U.S.C. 1501 et seq.), as amended.

  • Unless and until otherwise provided by Con- gress, water from the Central Arizona Project shall not be made available directly or indi- rectly for the irrigation of lands not having a re- cent irrigation history as determined by the Secretary, except in the case of Indian lands, na- tional wildlife refuges, and, with the approval of the Secretary, State-administered wildlife man- agement areas.

  • Acquisition of Central Arizona Project water or effluent to restore and maintain river and riparian resources may also be considered a capital project.

Central Arizona Project means the reclamation project authorized and constructed by the United States in accordance with Title III of the Colorado River Basin Project Act (43 X.X.X. §0000 et seq.), as amended. The CAP consists of a 336-mile water distribution system built to deliver more than 1.5 million acre-feet of Colorado River water annually from Lake Havasu in western Arizona to agricultural users, Indian tribes, and millions of municipal water users in Maricopa, Pinal, and Pima counties, Arizona.
