Clean Fuels definition

Clean Fuels. The Clean Fuels Program requires reductions in the lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions from transportation fuels supplied in Oregon. The program took effect in 2016, and by 2025 will require a 10% overall reduction in transportation fuels. In 2021, EQC adopted rules to improve how the program incents electricity as a low-carbon fuel. In 2022 the EQC expanded the targets to reach 37% overall reduction by 2035.

  • Coal means high-grade, medium-grade and low-grade category A and B coal within the meaning of the international codification system for coal established by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and clarified in the Council decision of 10 December 2010 on State aid to facilitate the closure of uncompetitive coal mines;

  • Remediation waste means all solid and hazardous wastes, and all media (including groundwater, surface water, soils, and sediments) and debris that are managed for implementing cleanup.

  • Basecoat means a coat of colored material, usually opaque, that is applied before graining inks, glazing coats, or other opaque finishing materials and is usually topcoated for protection.

  • Greenhouse Gas means carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, and sulfur hexafluoride.
