Continued stay definition

Continued stay means the ongoing provision of an appropriately matched level of care service to an individual’s needs, as assessed by ASAM or other department−approved placement criteria.

Examples of Continued stay in a sentence

  • Continued stay reviews are conducted before the expiration of the assigned length of stay.

  • Continued stay criteria - The patient must continue to be at medical risk for life-threatening consequences due to acute intoxication with alcohol or a substance of abuse or due to withdrawal from alcohol or a substance of abuse.

  • Continued stay criteria - The patient’s psychiatric condition must continue to require 24-hour medical/psychiatric and nursing services and must be of an intensity such that needed services can be appropriately provided only at an acute level of hospital care.

  • Continued stay reviews are subsequent reviews performed to determine if continuation of services is medically necessary and appropriate.

  • Continued stay authorization requests are to be submitted to the PAYOR.

  • Continued stay must meet medical necessity criteria and any applicable state law requirements.

  • The number of days authorized, and frequency of reviews are based on member’s diagnosis, condition and projected discharge.• Continued stay reviews are completed by a Medical Management Specialist prior to the end of the current authorization.

Related to Continued stay

  • Continuation and “Continued” each refers to the continuation of a LIBOR Loan from one Interest Period to another Interest Period pursuant to Section 2.9.
