Dental Injury definition

Dental Injury means an Injury to the Employee / Member or Dependant’s dentition and supporting structures (including damage to dentures while being worn) caused by extra-oral impact.
Dental Injury means Injury to a Qualifying Person's dentition and supporting structures, excluding damage to dentures and/or orthodontic appliances.
Dental Injury means accidental injury only and all dental injuries sustained at one time are considered one Dental Injury. Dental Injury does not include damages to the teeth, Appliances or Prosthetic Devices that result from chewing or biting food or other substances.

  • A “Sound Tooth” is a tooth that is:• Whole or virgin; or• Restored with amalgam (silver filling) or composite resin (tooth-colored filling) or restored by cast metal, ceramic/resin-to-metal or laboratory processed resin/porcelain restorations (crowns); and• Without current periodontal (tissue supporting the tooth) disease or current endodontal (tooth pulp or root) disease; and• Not in need of the treatment provided for any reason other than as the result of an Accidental Dental Injury.

  • The following Physician and other medical services may be Covered Services, subject to the Copayment amount set forth in the Summary of Benefits and Coverage, when provided to a Member by Contracting Providers: Accidental dental care: Dental services rendered within 62 days of an Accidental Dental Injury provided such services were for the treatment of damage to sound natural teeth, resulting from an Accidental Dental Injury.

  • This exclusion does not apply to Accidental Dental Injury or to orthodontic services.

  • The fee incurred in the necessary re-opening of a dental practice in the United Kingdom outside of the practice’s normal working hours to provide Emergency Dental Treatment or treatment in the event of Dental Injury and/or the cost of an emergency consultation with a Dentist.

Dental Injury means an Injury that results in damage to teeth gingival tissue, alveoli or dental prosthesis (while in the mount of the Covered Person) or loss of dental prosthesis which is caused by a force external to the mouth of the Covered Person and requires treatment of a Doctor.

Related to Dental Injury

  • Mental injury means an injury to the psychological capacity or emotional stability of a child as evidenced by an observable or substantial impairment in the child’s ability to function within a normal range of performance and behavior with due regard to the child’s culture.

  • Accidental Injury means an Injury sustained as a result of an external force or forces that is/are sudden, direct and unforeseen and is/are exact as to time and place. A hernia of any kind will only be considered as an Illness.

  • Physical injury means substantial physical pain or any impairment of physical condition;

  • Serious physical injury means physical injury which creates a substantial risk of death or which causes serious and prolonged disfigurement, prolonged impairment of health, or prolonged loss or impairment of the function of any bodily member or organ;

  • Serious injury means a significant overall impairment in the position of a domestic industry;

  • Substantial bodily injury means "bodily injury which involves (A) a temporary but substantial disfigurement; or (B) a temporary but substantial loss or impairment of the function of any bodily member, organ, or mental faculty." See 18 U.S.C. § 113(b)(1).

  • Brain injury means clinically evident damage to the brain resulting directly or indirectly from trauma, infection, anoxia, vascular lesions or tumor of the brain, not primarily related to degenerative or aging processes, which temporarily or permanently impairs a person’s physical, cognitive, or behavioral functions. The person must have a diagnosis from the following list:

  • Dental Insurance The District shall contribute $175.00 annually toward the cost of dental insurance whether for single or family coverage for full status employees who qualify for and enroll in the plan. The cost of the premium not contributed by the District for family coverage shall be borne by the employee through payroll deduction. This coverage shall continue for the duration of this contract.

  • Bodily injury means bodily injury, sickness or disease sustained by a person, including death resulting from any of these at any time.

  • Advertising injury means injury arising out of one or more of the following offenses:

  • Injury/Injured means a bodily injury caused by an accident occurring while the Insured’s coverage under this Policy is in force and resulting directly and independently of all other causes of Loss covered by this Policy. The injury must be verified by a Physician.

  • Traumatic brain injury means an acquired injury to the brain caused by an external physical force, resulting in total or partial functional disability or psychosocial impairment, or both, that adversely affects a student’s educational performance. The term includes open or closed head injuries resulting in impairments in one or more areas, such as, cognition, language, memory, attention, reasoning, abstract thinking, judgment, problem solving, sensory, perceptual and motor abilities, psychological behavior, physical functions, information processing and speech. The term does not include brain injuries that are congenital or degenerative or to brain injuries induced by birth trauma.

  • Serious bodily injury means bodily injury which involves a substantial risk of death, extreme physical pain, protracted obvious disfigurement or protracted loss or impairment of the function of a bodily member, organ or mental faculty.

  • Accidental Bodily Injury means an Injury sustained as the result of an Accident and independently of all other causes by an outside traumatic event or due to exposure to the elements.

  • Catastrophic illness or injury means one of the following:

  • threat of serious injury means serious injury that is clearly imminent;

  • Compensable injury means an injury by accident arising out of and in the course of hazardous employment which must be established by medical evidence supported by objective medical findings.

  • Environmental Indemnity Agreement means the environmental indemnity agreement dated as of the date of this Agreement executed by Borrower for the benefit of the Indemnified Parties and such other parties as are identified in such agreement with respect to the Premises, as the same may be amended from time to time.

  • Personal injury means injury, other than "bodily injury", arising out of one or more of the following offenses:

  • Automobile Related Injury means bodily Injury sustained by a [Member] as a result of an accident:

  • Own risk and solvency assessment means a confidential internal assessment, appropriate to the nature, scale, and complexity of an insurer or insurance group, conducted by that insurer or insurance group of the material and relevant risks associated with the insurer or insurance group's current business plan, and the sufficiency of capital resources to support those risks.

  • Serious injury or illness means an Injury or Illness incurred in the line of duty that may render the member of the Armed Forces medically unfit to perform his or her military duties.

  • Mental illness (MI) means a substantial disorder of thinking, mood, perception, orientation or memory that grossly impairs judgment, behaviour, capacity to recognise reality or ability to meet the ordinary demands of life, but does not include retardation which is a condition of arrested or incomplete development of mind of a person, specially characterised by sub normality of intelligence

  • Environmental Insurance Policy means, with respect to any Mortgage Loan or the related Mortgaged Property or REO Property, any insurance policy covering pollution conditions and/or other environmental conditions that is maintained from time to time in respect of such Mortgage Loan, Mortgaged Property or REO Property, as the case may be, for the benefit of, among others, the Trustee on behalf of the Certificateholders.

  • Injury means accidental physical bodily harm excluding illness or disease solely and directly caused by external, violent and visible and evident means which is verified and certified by a Medical Practitioner.

  • Environmental Infrastructure System means the Environmental Infrastructure Facilities of the Borrower, including the Project, for which the Borrower is receiving the Loan.
