Disabled infant definition

Disabled infant means a child of less than one year of age having a physical or mental impairment which may substantially limit one or more major life functions such as breathing, seeing, hearing, walking, caring for one's self, performing manual tasks, learning, and working.

Disabled infants who have been hospitalized continuously since birth, infants who were born extremely premature, or infants who have a long-term disability are included in this definition.
