Emerging Market Issuer definition

Emerging Market Issuer means an entity domiciled in an Emerging Market Country. “Local Currencies” means currencies of Emerging Market Countries.
Emerging Market Issuer or “EMI” means, other than an Other Listed EMI, or unless otherwise determined by the Exchange, an issuer whose principal business operations and the majority of its operating assets are in an Emerging Market jurisdiction. For greater certainty, an EMI that has securities listed on the Exchange is also a Listed Issuer.
Emerging Market Issuer means (i) a sovereign or non-sovereign issuer located in a country that is in Latin America, Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe or the Caribbean, other than an issuer located in Japan or Singapore; or (ii) a sovereign or non-sovereign issuer located in a country that is rated below AA by S&P (other than Greece, Italy or any other country consented to by S&P).

  • Identification, Assessment and Disclosure of Emerging Market Issuer RisksAn EMI must identify, assess and adequately disclose the emerging market issuer risks and related matters that are applicable to its business as set out in OSC Staff Notice 51-720.

Emerging Market Issuer means a sovereign or non-sovereign issuer located in a country that is in Latin America, Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe or the Caribbean or in a country the dollar-denominated sovereign debt obligations of which are rated lower than “AA” by S&P and lower than “AA” by Fitch; provided that an issuer of Asset-Backed Securities located in any Eligible SPV Jurisdiction shall not be an Emerging Market Issuer for purposes hereof if the underlying collateral of such Asset-Backed Securities consists solely of obligations of obligors located in the United States and Qualifying Foreign Obligors.
