General Apprentice definition

General Apprentice is an employee who is engaged by the Company with the intention of pursuing the prescribed course of training leading to the status of Technician I. Any part of the apprenticeship may be waived at the discretion of the Company in recognition of previous related experience or training. An employee who transfers to the position of General Apprentice shall serve a trial period of twelve (12) months. If at any time during this trial period it is found the employee is unable to perform the duties of a General Apprentice or his/her performance proves to be unsatisfactory, the employee shall return to a vacant position for which he/she qualifies in his/her previous job classification at his/her previous rate of pay.
