Held for Trading definition

Held for Trading. (HFT) means the category of investment portfolio maintained by the banks with intention to trade in securities by taking advantage of the short- term price/interest rate movements.

  • The capital charge for Held for Trading (HFT) and Available for Sale (AFS) portfolios is computed as per Reserve Bank of India prudential guidelines.
