Host Blue definition

Host Blue means the local Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield plan or licensee in a geographic area outside of the Wellmark service area.
Host Blue means the independent Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Licensees (Plans and certain Plan affiliates) that participate in Inter-Plan Programs and provide PROVIDER network access and claim pricing for other independent Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Licensees (Plans and certain Plan affiliates), including BCBSNC, when Members receive medical services in that Host Blue's service area.
Host Blue means a local Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield licensee outside the geographic area that Claim Administrator serves.

Examples of Host Blue in a sentence

  • Often, this “negotiated price” will be a simple discount that reflects an actual price that the Host Blue pays to your healthcare provider.

  • However, the Host Blue is responsible for contracting with and generally handling all interactions with its participating providers.

  • For instance, although the Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Core assists you with accessing a network of inpatient, outpatient and professional providers, the network is not served by a Host Blue.

  • Some providers (“nonparticipating providers”) don’t contract with the Host Blue.

  • Under the BlueCard® Program, when you receive covered healthcare services within the geographic area served by a Host Blue, we will remain responsible for doing what we agreed to in the contract.

  • Under the BlueCard® Program, when you access covered healthcare services within the geographic area served by a Host Blue, we will remain responsible for fulfilling our contractual obligations.

  • Under the BlueCard® Program, when You receive Covered Services within the geographic area served by a Host Blue, the Claims Administrator will still fulfill its contractual obligations.

Related to Host Blue

  • Mobile means any mobile delivery technology including 3G, 3.5G, 4G, 5G cellular technology, and any subsequent generation technology, edge, DVBH or DMB which is or may be used with radio frequency spectrum in any band, to enable or facilitate transmission of textual material, data, voice, video and/or multimedia service to any device (whether now known or hereafter developed) which is capable of receiving and/or sending voice and/or data and/or video communications by means of a device which is designed primarily as a portable device.

  • Homemaker services means the professionally directed or supervised simple household maintenance or management services provided by trained homemakers or individuals to families in their own homes.

  • Cable Television Network means system consisting of set of closed transmission paths and associated signal generation, control and distribution equipment, designed to provide Cable Service for reception by multiple subscribers.

  • BEO means a written order issued by the Contractor to the Judicial Council that confirms the Judicial Council’s specific instructions and orders with respect to the Program on any one or more of the following, but does not alter any of the Agreement’s terms and conditions: (i) meeting and/or function room(s) and set-up requirements and/or rental charges; (ii) meal menus and prices and set-up requirements; and/or (iii) audio-visual equipment and set-up requirements and/or rental charges. BEO’s will be approved and signed by the Judicial Council’s representative, as set forth in Exhibit B.

  • Host means CI Plus host as defined in Specification.
