Internal Substitution. A. An employee required to substitute in a lower-paying job classification shall be paid at the rate of pay established for the employee’s regular position. An employee required to substitute in a higher-paying job classification for ten (10) or more consecutive work days shall be paid at the higher rate of pay, retroactive to the first day of substitute duties.

Internal Substitution. Teachers will be compensated for internal substitution, provided the teacher has a normal teaching load and assumes the additional class assignment in lieu of a scheduled preparation period. The rate will be $25.00 per hour/class for the duration of the contract.

Internal Substitution. Internal substitution is discouraged for all but emergency situations. In an effort to deal with those emergency situations, each building principal will, at the beginning of every year, compile a list of those teachers who would volunteer to do internal substitution and when each would be available to substitute. In those situations where it is necessary to utilize an internal substitute, those teachers who have volunteered would be asked to substitute on a rotating basis. If there is no regular substitute or volunteer available, the principal or his/her designee may assign a teacher to substitute. This involuntary assignment shall also be administered on a rotating basis among all available teachers. No teacher shall be required to perform involuntary substitutions more than three (3) times each school year. Any teacher who substitutes shall be compensated at the negotiated internal substitution rate. A teacher will not monitor another teacher’s class while his/her class is in session.
Internal Substitution. The administration will make every reasonable effort to secure a substitute teacher when a teacher is absent. If a substitute teacher is not available, either in the middle school or elementary buildings, any teacher who accepts a class which requires the forfeiture of his/her preparation period will be compensated at the proportionate share of thirty five dollars ($35.00) per clock hour. If no teacher agrees to accept the assignment voluntarily, then the administration may assign a teacher(s) to do so on a rotating basis. Every attempt will be made to give teachers as much notice as possible when they are to be assigned to internal substitution.

Internal Substitution. A teacher may be assigned by administration to substitute for an absent teacher. In such event, that teacher shall be compensated at $25.00 per hour for each hour or portion of an hour substituted.
