Medical Specialist means any medical practitioner who is vocationally registered by the Medical Council under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 in one of the approved branches of medicine and who is employed in either that branch of medicine or in a similar capacity with minimal oversight.
Pharmacist services means products, goods, and services, or any combination of products, goods, and services, provided as a part of the practice of pharmacy.
Speech pathologist means a person who engages in the application of principles, methods, and procedures for the measurement, testing, evaluation, prediction, consultation, counseling, instruction, habilitation, rehabilitation, or remediation related to the development and disorders of speech, fluency, voice, or language for the purpose of nonmedically evaluating, preventing, ameliorating, modifying, or remediating such disorders and conditions in individuals or groups of individuals.
Clinical nurse specialist means a registered nurse with relevant post-basic qualifications and 12 months’ experience working in the clinical area of his/her specified post-basic qualification, or a minimum of four years’ post-basic registration experience, including three years’ experience in the relevant specialist field and who satisfies the local criteria.
In Patient Care means treatment for which the insured person has to stay in a hospital for more than 24 hours for a covered event.
Early intervention services means individual programmes for children with developmental delays or disabilities, or children at risk of being developmentally delayed or of having a disability, aged 0 to 6 years, aimed at providing assistance to the child and its family in the areas of physical, emotional, social and educational needs.
Assistance animal means an animal that works, provides assistance, or performs tasks for the benefit of a person with a disability, or provides emotional support that alleviates one or more identified symptoms or effects of a person's disability. Assistance animals perform many disability-related functions, including guiding individuals who are blind or have low vision, alerting individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing to sounds, providing protection or rescue assistance, pulling a wheelchair, fetching items, alerting persons to impending seizures, or providing emotional support to persons with disabilities who have a disability-related need for such support. An assistance animal is not required to be individually trained or certified. While dogs are the most common type of assistance animal, other animals can also be assistance animals. An assistance animal is not a pet.
Nominal tomographic section thickness means the full width at half-maximum of the sensitivity profile taken at the center of the cross-sectional volume over which x-ray transmission data are collected.
Physical therapist assistant means an individual who is licensed/certified by a state and who assists the physical therapist in selected components of physical therapy.
Clinical peer means a physician or other health care professional who holds a non-restricted license in a state of the United States and in the same or similar specialty as typically manages the medical condition, procedure or treatment under review.
Post-Stabilization Care means Medically Neces- sary services received after the treating physician determines the emergency medical condition is stabilized.
Rehabilitation counseling services means services provided by qualified personnel in individual or group sessions that focus specifically on career development, employment preparation, achieving independence, and integration in the workplace and community of a student with a disability. The term also includes vocational rehabilitation services provided to a student with disabilities by vocational rehabilitation programs funded under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.
Container station and depot services means activities consisting in storing containers, whether in port areas or inland, with a view to their stuffing/stripping, repairing and making them available for shipments.
Information technology services means services designed to do any of the following:
Hospice patient s family" means a hospice patient's immediate family members, including a spouse, brother, sister, child, or parent, and any other relative or individual who has significant personal ties to the patient and who is designated as a member of the patient's family by mutual agreement of the patient, the relative or individual, and the patient's interdisciplinary team.
Outreach Services has the meaning ascribed thereto in Section 2.1(F)(5) hereof and Exhibit B hereto.
Sexual Exploitation and Abuse “(SEA)” means the following:
Direct scattered radiation means that scattered radiation which has been deviated in direction only by materials irradiated by the useful beam (see “Scattered radiation”).
MCIP means (i) the joint county industrial park established pursuant to the terms of the MCIP Agreement and (ii) any joint county industrial park created pursuant to a successor park agreement delivered by the County and a partner county in accordance with Section 4-1-170 of the MCIP Act, or any successor provision, with respect to the Project.
Assistive technology service means any service that directly assists a child with a disability in the selection, acquisition, or use of an assistive technology device. The term includes:
Substance use disorder professional means a person
Autism spectrum disorder means a neuro-developmental condition typically appearing in the first three years of life that significantly affects a person's ability to communicate, understand relationships and relate to others, and is frequently associated with unusual or stereotypical rituals or behaviours.
Counseling services means services provided by qualified social workers, psychologists, guidance counselors, or other qualified personnel.
trade in services means the supply of a service:
(i) from the Area of a Party into the Area of the other Party (“cross-border supply mode”);
(ii) in the Area of a Party to the service consumer of the other Party (“consumption abroad mode”);
(iii) by a service supplier of a Party, through commercial presence in the Area of the other Party (“commercial presence mode”); and
(iv) by a service supplier of a Party, through presence of natural persons of that Party in the Area of the other Party (“presence of natural persons mode”); and
Genetic counselor means a person licensed by the Board to engage in the practice of genetic
Service Planning Team or “SPT” means a team who includes the Individual and/or the Individual’s identified support network, Contractor’s lead administrative staff supporting medical, behavioral and activity oversight called out in this Contract, Contractor’s Administrator or designee and ODHS Designee. The team is responsible for overseeing the Individual’s Service Plan and all other associated plans or services in this Contract.
