Leak or fugitive leak definition

Leak or fugitive leak means the unintentional release of emissions at a rate greater than or equal to the leak thresholds specified in this subarticle.
Leak or fugitive leak means any visible emission from a fugitive emissions component observed using optical gas imaging or an instrument reading of 500 ppm or greater using U.S. EPA Method 21 (40 CFR 60, Appendix A-7) or any emissions discovered from a fugitive emissions component observed using an auditory, visual or olfactory inspection.

  • Fugitive dust emissions means particulate matter from process operations that does not pass through a process stack or vent and that is generated within plant property boundaries from activities such as: unloading and loading areas, process areas, stockpiles, stock pile working, plant parking lots, and plant roads (including access roads and haul roads).

  • Fugitive emission means those emissions that could not reasonably pass through a stack, chimney, vent, or other functionally-equivalent opening.
